Nigeria and Brazil Plan Direct Flights to Strengthen Economic and Cultural Links.

Nigeria and Brazil are advancing efforts to establish direct flights between the two nations, following a February 2024 meeting between Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. They agreed to revive the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA). Nigerian Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo and Brazilian Ambassador Carlos Garcete are negotiating to activate the BASA and finalize an Open Skies Agreement. Two Nigerian airlines, Air Peace and Caverton, have been selected to operate on the route. This initiative could boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
